INFUSED: backwoods blackberry

backwoods blackberry: an infusion that starts with our “Blackberry Früchte” – a sour fruited berliner weisse – for the base beer. We then aged it on medium toasted white American oak chips.

the result: Subtle vanilla, toast, and tannin flavors. The tart fruit flavors are softened up by the oak for a more rounded finish. There’s still tons of great blackberry flavor for the fruity beer lover!

What’s an infusion? We do infusions every Thursday – always starting with one of our regular beers, then adding different flavors using adjuncts like fresh fruit, spices & herbs, unique extracts, and more! Sometimes we mimic our favorite desserts, cocktails, barrel aging, fruit beers, or just experiment to see what you think of the end result! We’re not saying they’re for everyone…but if you find one that interests you be sure to get here right away because they don’t last long. We only make 5 gallons and serve it until it’s gone. Stop in for a sample, order a 5oz pour, or go for the full 12 ounces! The only restriction is we don’t sell howlers of them until Sunday – if there’s any left – and no growler sales of the infused.
