In case anyone was wondering if I was still keeping busy at LTS, the answer to that is a resounding “Yes!”. It seems like the to-do list never shrinks around here
In my last update I mentioned some improvements being made to the patio, and anyone who has been out to the taproom lately has seen some of them first-hand. The sun-sails are up over part of the patio so we can enjoy some shade – just in time for our first forecasted 90 degree days. The landscaping and planters are taking longer to complete than expected – mostly because it doesn’t seem to give us more than about 18 hours between rain storms around here!
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the end of American Craft Beer Week and the beginning of our “patio season” with our Pig Roast last month. I think it was a huge success. Hopefully everyone enjoyed it!
We’re releasing a couple new beers in the taproom this evening – a Munich-style Dunkel Lager and a French-style Petite Saison.
The Dunkel is the first lager we’ve brewed on the big brewing system at LTS. It’s a malt-forward beer with hints of roast and just enough German hops to balance it out. We followed up the Dunkel with a Munich-style Helles Lager which is currently bubbling away – look for that one in the taproom in about a month or so.
This year’s summer saison is a little different than last year’s, which was a scaled-down version of our winter saison (Saison d’Vie). This year’s version is a simplified grain bill and we used a French Saison yeast and El Dorado hops. The French Saison yeast is a favorite of my assistant brewer Brett’s, and I think it makes delicious beer. Tonight’s infusion is actually this beer with red raspberries – it should be great!
